About The CrossHatching Chronicler

About the Site:

Thank you so much for visiting!  I hope you have fun and find the material on the site informative, inspiring, and entertaining!  The mission is to share my art and love of history, pop culture, and legends. The site will showcase my art, historical essays, parody songs, and fictional stories regarding history, informing the reader about the event.  Moreover, my reimagined tellings of fairytales, past legends, and information on upcoming books and comics of mine will be on the site as well!

About the Art:

I was drawing before I could talk.  I love pen and ink, and my favorite technique is crosshatching, hence the name.  On top of that, I frequently use ink wash and watercolor.  My biggest influences are Virgil Finlay, Gustave Doré, Stephen Gammell, and Butch Hartman.

Educational Background:

I studied History and Political Science in college and graduated Cum Laude.  My main areas of interest are Calvinist and Capitalist thought; therefore, I focused heavily on the Puritans in colonial America.  However, I also gave particular attention to medieval philosophy, the Reformation, and Chilean economic history.
